Retail Dos and Don'ts 2

The Tempest, Solano Community College, Fairfield, CA

8 hours ago by Lance Park

I've spent two years in the SCC Bookstore, my older brother worked around three years at Target and a toy store, and my best friend works at Michaels. Each of us has come to a conclusion regarding customers; the majority are nice and cordial, but there's a portion that are downright abusive to retail employees; just one in 20 that will walk in and treat the employees like rugs.

There were a lot of things I didn't get to say. A lot of editorials and opinions I didn't write - a lot of words I didn't get to use.

Some might have been valuable or worth more or read more, but some things are better left unsaid.

There is a short story, an anecdote at best, that I never had the chance to tell and if not for this last time to write on this Tuesday in May, I might not continue.

Express, Las Positas College, CA

When leaps, chases and pirouette are combined with James Bond, Chocolat, and Moulin Rouge, the result is an entertaining evening of dancers moving to tunes made famous by some of the most popular films to hit the silver screen.

May 3 marked the second night of LPC's spring dance production, and as the theater filmed, the second ever evening began of a production based upon a specific theme: Let's go to the Movies!

The first dance performance of the evening was choreographed by dance student Natalie Miramontes, and featured music by Flo Rida, Missy Elliot and Timbaland, as well as Justin Timberlake and Modonna.

Under a proposed statewide recruitment plan, all community college athletic programs in California would be able to recruit athletes from anywhere in the state legally. Spurs should get title No. 5

Spartan Daily, San Jose State University, CA

1 day ago by David Zugnoni

Sorry to disappoint fans of fast-paced, run-and-gun-style basketball, but the San Antonio Spurs will win the NBA championship - again.

One thing the Spurs haven't done is win back-to-back championships, but last year's finals victory over an inexperienced Cleveland Cavaliers was not exactly the triumph that causes a team to lack the motivation needed to win it the following season.

Universal health care not a good solution

La Voz Weekly, De Anza College, CA

8 hours ago by Nitzan Beck

In theory, universal health care is a great plan ... but so was communism. As much as it sounds good on paper to write "free health care for everyone," it is simply unrealistic.

There is no such thing as "free." Why should that be any different with universal health care? The money used for universal health care will come from tax money, and that tax money ultimately comes from you or me.

1 day ago by marie burdoin

As students scramble to pull their grades up in anticipation of finals, the lack of school spirit at Las Positas College is more apparent than ever.

'Gruesome' class, deathly interesting

A sweet, antiseptic smell fills the air. Students cluster over metal trays, laughing or speaking intently, while others refer back to text books with looks of confusion.

It could be any science lab class. Except the students aren't gathered around groups of sedimentary and metamorphic rocks or the remains of an unlucky frog.
